2011 International Green Energy Economy Conference
Conference Vision
The 2011 International Green Energy Economy Conference will take place July 28-29, 2011 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel, located in Crystal City, Virginia.
The economy of the 21st century must become a green economy, built upon foundations of innovation, clean energy, green jobs, and sustainability. National and global security is dependent upon economies that support their populations and protect the environment. Many nations are seeing investment in clean energy as key to short-term economic recovery and long-term prosperity. These include the United States, South Korea and China.
The Center for Energy and Environmental Policy (CEEP) at the University of Delaware, in collaboration with the Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI) and with its key partners – the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE) and the Council of Energy Research & Education Leaders (CEREL) – are organizing an international conference to examine the promise, prospects and pathways to a green energy economy. Issues that we will explore include:
- evaluate promising efficiency and renewable technologies, and other green technologies;
- review research on green jobs, green manufacturing, green investment and financing, and green globalization;
- review impact studies of green energy policies and programs in OECD countries;
- evaluate energy, macroeconomic and environmental outcomes of strategies to shift secure and green energy economies;
- examine the applicability of different green energy policy models for various regions and nations; and
- explore ways of transitioning to a green energy society.
A select number of presenters at the conference will be invited to publish chapters in a subsequent book on Secure & Green Energy Economies.
